What is a Change Request?
A Change Request is a specific request to modify or expand the PLC and visualization software of an existing system. This includes, for example, system-specific software changes, minor software modifications, and the replacement of discontinued HMI devices, including the necessary adjustments and functional tests.

What you'll be handling:

  • Evaluate the request: Record and organize change requests, and evaluate them in terms of technical feasibility, risks, and necessary interfaces.
  • Estimate the effort: Define the scope of implementation and prepare a transparent estimate of hours required as the basis for the proposal and planning.
  • Plan the solution: Define a technical implementation concept and coordinate the necessary contributions from engineering, IT, development, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with the customer: Clarify the scope of services, open issues, prerequisites, and the appropriate implementation timeframe directly with the customer.
  • Implement software: Independently implement PLC, HMI, and plant-specific software customizations and document them thoroughly.
  • Coordinate changes: Coordinate and track necessary EPLAN, hardware, and documentation adjustments with the relevant engineering departments.
  • Testing and Commissioning: Perform functional tests, commissioning, and handoffs remotely or on-site at the customer’s location.
  • Provide Technical Advice: Advise customers on appropriate options, dependencies, modernization possibilities, and a reliable implementation.

What you'll need:

  • Completed technical training—such as an apprenticeship, HTL, university of applied sciences, or university degree—in automation technology, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a comparable field
  • In-depth knowledge of PLC programming, particularly Siemens SIMATIC Manager and Siemens TIA Portal
  • Experience with HMI and visualization systems, as well as with modifications to existing systems
  • Understanding of electrical schematics and the ability to collaborate with EPLAN engineering teams
  • Understanding of IT/OT topics, industrial networks, and increasing cybersecurity requirements, such as IEC 62443
  • Knowledge of TGW Software Commander is a plus
  • An independent, structured, and solution-oriented approach to work with a realistic assessment of effort and risks
  • Customer-focused approach, strong communication skills, initiative, and decisiveness
  • Very good written and spoken German and English
  • Willingness to travel for necessary customer assignments

What you'll receive:

  • A supportive work environment, motivated teams, and a culture of open feedback
  • Diverse areas of responsibility and the freedom to shape your own work
  • The opportunity to take on responsibility in a successful international company with a strong focus on culture and values
  • A secure and stable employer that operates in line with the philosophy “People First—Learn and Grow”
  • A structured onboarding program and support from experienced colleagues
International travel and the chance to explore new countries and cultures

We offer an attractive salary in line with the market, which can be above the collective agreement depending on qualifications and experience. The minimum gross basic salary based on full-time employment per year is 47.547 Euro.
